今天的老人活动，恰逢中央医院的医生和社工引领了几个来自澳洲的社会工作者，到来探访老人家，为这个寂静的角落，增添了几许热闹。
善心人陈氏家族的婆孙代表，亲自到来分红包和食品给独居老人，老人家喜出望外。
看到年轻人也学习祖母那么热心公益，我真是开心。这个年轻人，忙里忙外，一下子帮忙包装食品，一下子帮忙分红包，一下子又帮忙给老人家提着米粮回家。陈太太给子孙们树立了好榜样，真是教导有方。
社会公益事，来自言传身教。
07/10/08… Today is a special day.
Our activities for the elderly today coincided with some visitors who are social workers from Australia brought there by some doctors and social workers from Singapore General Hospital (SGH).
A team of Granny and Grand daughter from a kind-hearted Tan family was there personally to distribute red packets and food to the lonely old folks and made them much delighted.
I am pleased to observe this young girl who learnt from her granny to be enthusiastic in community work. This young girl was busily moving in and out, helping to pack food, distribute red packets and carried rice sacks to the old folks’ homes. Mrs Tan showed a good example to her descendants, remarkably with the right teachings.
Social-community works emerged from teaching and leading by example.
